I have enjoyed teaching art therapy with academics. It has engaged students in learning new concepts. I am very transparent and honest about my perspectives. In fact, I am confident and desire to develop self-efficacy in students. I focus on a hands-on approach which is essential for visual learners and others. I realize that professional development is needed yearly to compete in the 21st century. Therefore, education is a life-long learning process. I personally embrace learning new skills.

From my experiences, I gather age-appropriate theories and strategies and apply them to real-life situations. Students, parents, and administrators appreciate my innovative ways of teaching disciplines. I consider stakeholders’ viewpoints in reaching goals. Collaboration is paramount in reaching the objectives of the school system. As a result, multiculturalism and globalism are included in all lesson plans. Equity must be maintained at all times for the learning environment to succeed.

Nevertheless, the empathy approach is applied in all circumstances. As an educator, I make recommendations and modifications based on the student’s needs. Formative and summative assessments are given weekly to test the effectiveness of learning. Constructive feedback is welcomed from students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Lastly, the results are analyzed and adjustments are made as needed. All students are given the opportunity to become successful in their academics. Consequently, it is important to be a leader in the community.
